Victories

And Trudeau backpedaled on the vaccine mandates for truckers. These are good news.

I’ll make fish kotlety to celebrate.

  1. Just got off the phone with family, and while the supreme court told fedgov they overreached, they left a gigantic loophole for continuing to enforce mandates on federal contractors and healthcare employees. So two family members still on the job chopping block. They are filling out their medical/religious exemption requests now, and hoping for the best. I’m telling them to just try to buy time until the end of February. This crap should be done with by then (and if it’s not, it means we’ve got worse problems).

    Bastards.

      1. I’ll go look for that, and pass the info along. What I’m hearing in other places is that citing fetal-cell use is a no-go, but some people have had better luck with religious exemptions that cite beliefs about bodily integrity, “body is a temple of the Lord” type stuff, and Quaker-style pacifist anti-coercion beliefs.

But I think we’re gonna try for medically exempt first, as it’s less ambiguous.

        1. The best way to approach the religious exemption is to cite multiple reasons, not just one. I would go for everything that applies to the situation. The more comprehensive you are the better. Cite any documents supporting your views that originate from your faith (e.g., catechism, any other documents published by your church representatives).

      1. Seems to be some uncertainty about that with my family members’ employer, though. I don’t know if they need a day for their lawyers to read through it or what. Right now, they seem to think it still applies to federal contractors.

    1. Myself, and some other people I know (both federal contractors and medical employees) were successful with religious exemptions due to the use of fetal tissues in the development/testing of all the covid vaccines that are currently in use in the US. I hope it will work out for your family members. I am happy to share more info if needed.

I do hope this thing will be over soon, but I am not super-optimistic. I think the exemptions are, ultimately, just a temporary solution to a problem that will not go away easily. The Supreme Court should have squashed this more thoroughly, in my opinion, as this is not just about covid. What else our employers should be able to mandate to us?

  2. At this point the religious exemption should be given to all who are not members of the Covid church and thus want to refuse the incremental vaccine sacraments. I’m wondering what would happen if I filed an exemption based on that.

    1. I’m loving the expression “the incremental vaccine sacraments.” 🙂 It’s totally their version of communion. I have a suspicion they get the same feeling from getting vaccinated that a devout Orthodox Christian or s Catholic get from communion. It’s a powerful experience, so I don’t blame them for wanting it.

  3. Dear Clarissa

Hello from the UK. Many thanks for this post. I am very glad to here this good news. Personally I would not touch the vaccines for all the tea in China, let alone India etc.

I have liked the comment of Maria’s re ‘vaccine sacraments’. It is more appropriate than you might suppose.

This is because ‘Vaccination’ is an anagram of ‘Icon Vatican’ or even ‘I con Vatican’. Icon is an image or mark. I con is ‘I fraud’. The whole of this is beastly as vaccines are, and always were, beastly harmful and sometimes deadly. I only understood this last year at 60 years of age when I took the trouble to research.

I write about such matters on my website. This link is my vaccines page.

    V is for…..Vaccination

That gives access to the various other issues. I cover the statistics in the UK and USA and recently those in Australia.

Please note I do use humour as necessary on posts and pages to lighten the mood and help make the points.

May I take the opportunity to wish you a very happy new year.

    Kind regards

Please excuse the nom-de-plume, this is as much for fun as a riddle for people to solve if they wish.
