I just discovered that the director of Planned Parenthood is being paid the insane amount of $520,000 per year to do the half-assed job she’s doing.
This is beyond ridiculous. And it’s a perfect illustration of what I’m saying about the need to bring in highly qualified immigrants in my long comment in the previous thread. For this amount – hell, for a third of this anount, a qualified, driven immigrant would do actual work and not just mumble stupidly and let the organization fall apart.
Totally agreed. However, unfortunately, that’s true of a lot of supposed non-profits. Some PBS stations, even as they beg for money, are paying heads over $200k. Look at Susan G. Komen Foundation, or the Cancer groups.
The only way to justify a very high salary like that is if the individual is able to bring in money that exceeds the salary and that the nonprofit could not get otherwise. However, in most cases, that seems like a questionable premise.

Agreed. 🙂
Now if there’s someone with a magic touch who can hit up the alums for $100 million, then that person is worth a lot of money. Personally, I don’t know anyone like that.

I suspect that if Joe Biden became a university president after his term in his present job is up, he would most definitely fall into that category. I hope he does. Preferably here at UD, of course.

No, we want him more! Although we can’t pay that much. 🙂

But if he serves even a single term as President (he won’t), then he’ll be able to charge at least $500,000 a speech for years after he leaves office. 🙂

Yes, we are stuck with our current clown of a president.
P.S. “We” means my university.
