At Klara’s daycare, the kids were dressing up in costumes today. All girls got bright-colored gauzy skirts with sparkles. The boys also decided they wanted something this beautiful and put on the gauzy skirts.
When I showed up, the boys lined up to show off their skirts and get compliments from me. It’s so great to see kids before they get weighed down by rotten stereotypes and boys enter the life-long subjection to the tyranny of boring, drab, limited clothing choices. And the open, free emotionality of their early years will be stomped out of these boys as well.
