After the conversation, Klara was singing, “No sunshine, she’s gone. . .” Then she turns to me and explains, “No sunshine. It’s not warm. I no need sun screen.”

People say we need to cite more women of color in our scholarship. I have a practical question. I can guess who’s a woman from the scholar’s name. How can I figure out if she’s of color? In Hispanic studies, the name is useless in this regard.

This reminded me of this fellow I used to work with who’d say things like, “Everybody says that you are a total bitch and a rancid whore but I don’t think it’s true. I hear people say this about you all the time, but I don’t believe it.”

I don’t know about everybody else, but Argentinians would be livid.

Mueller’s indictment for 13 Russians is disastrous for anti-Trumpers. Not only is there zero evidence of any collusion, the Russians are indicted for promoting Trump and Sanders. Because there’s no difference to them.

This means that Russians are convinced there is no alternative to aggressive globalization. Their approach was “anything but Hillary” because Hillary is an unapologetic, aggressive globalizer. They believe that she would have put the US so far ahead in this game that there would be no competing with it. Anybody even slightly less enamored of globalization would be better for the Russians, who are still hoping to win this competition.
